Initial approval of Biloxi House proposal by Mississippi Gaming Commission

It was announced earlier this week that the plan to turn the closed Margaritaville Casino and Restaurant in Mississippi into the new Biloxi House casino resort was given site permission, which marked a significant step ahead in the scheme's progression.

Biloxi proposal:

WLOX-TV, a local television station, reported on Thursday that in order for the scheme to move forward, receiving approval from the Mississippi Gaming Commission was a necessary prerequisite. Meanwhile, local developer Biloxi House LLC is now hoping to spend approximately $200 million in order to enlarge and re-open the waterfront property by the end of 2021.

According to the broadcaster, the Biloxi venue ceased operations in September of 2014; however, Chris Taylor and Tom Moore from Biloxi House disclosed that they intend to reopen the establishment after constructing a 20,000 square foot back deck and some 15,000 square feet of additional gaming space. The couple is said to have further explained that they aim to build an additional hotel with 300 rooms and enhance access to the twelve-acre site. The location is located in the "Back Bay" section of the Mississippi city next to the Golden Nugget Biloxi.

According to WLOX-TV, the developer furthermore anticipates soon unveiling a plan to bring a one-of-a-kind tourist-attracting amenity to the forthcoming facility. However, the developer will not be able to begin construction until receiving official planning permission from city authorities and the Mississippi Gaming Commission.
